ok ill do that. and as for the part about my off roading buddies, well i had one friend who has that stuff i could borrow, but just 2 weeks ago he moved to california. ive heard about that tool loan program. ill probably look into that.
ok as for the control arms i guess ill just wait and save up for those later this year. (gives me something to look forward to, if nothing else). for now im 99% decided on 3 inch coil spacers from top gun customz, and aal's from either skyjacker or tuff country. itll add up to somwhere between 140-190 bucks depending on which AALs i get, plus shocks. im startin to get excited.

Trust me...you probably wont find a cheaper deal then top guns....I ordered my kit from them last week and it should be here wed. of this week...I was gonna piece stuff together for my kit, but it wasnt gonna be any cheaper then the topgunz kit...also...Since im also a member at dodgetrucks.org, I was able to get an extra 5% off my stuff, which isnt much, but every little bit helps.
any of the control arms for a 3" lift are the same length as stock. Dont bother with them.
Go with an AAL. YOu can get a 2" AAL from summit or Jc whitney for $50 shipped.
as for the front. If you're only going 3" just get a 3" coil spring spacers. You'll want to go up later on, trust me. I wasted my money on a 3" kit and wish I just got some spacers because the 3" coils dont sell that good after they are used.

black97sport- which kit did you get from them? did you get blocks or AAL's? and also- if you got the shocks that TGC gives with their kit, let me know how they are. they seem cheap, but cheap is good sometimes.
yea i was gonna say that alot of the guys over at pavementsucks.com say that steering stabalizers tend to hide steering problems..
check out 4wheelparts.com i got 4 procomp shocks and a free steering stabilzer and 5 free boots for 140 shipped... if you call and ask for shocks i think if you order shocks for the "offroad" model they would be long enough for your 3" lift... seeing that the offroad model has shocks that fit it and it already has a 2" lift... jsut and idea ..maybe it will help with picking out the right shocks

Just a few add ons the the whole mix. My thoughts anyway.
My truck came with a steering stabilizer stock. I assume they all did. It has been replaced, but is still stock and should be fine. Not something to get excited about.
No steering parts changes are needed for a 3" lift.
The new arm is the same length as stock. The main reason for the new arms is that they are boxed. They are not neccessary, just stronger. They add strength just like the ones on a drag car do for the rear end. The kit I got only came with the lower arm not both(Rancho RS6475). I was looking for low cost also verses how much I abuse it. When you go to 5" and up I think the length changes???. If you replace it Scribe a mark on the eccentric, and if you get it back in the same place it will not need adjustment to align the front end.
The AAL is great for me. Like one of the others just said, I can load her down and roll on. I've had mine in for approx. 5-6 years with no noticable sagging. If you look at my photo gallery, I have a shell on half the time.
The kit relocated my front bump stops. Lowered them an inch or two. Don't know if it is neccessary.
If I had of known that when my 33's wore out I was going another 3" and 35's, I would have just gotten a 6" to start with. But at the time I was tight for money also and tired of the 33's rubbing.
If I'm not mistaken the only neccessary items were the coil spacers. AAL with new bolts/hardware, which should come with the kit. Longer shocks.
