Where do you get a build sheet at. If it is in the manual, I don't have one with my truck. Is there any way to find all this stuff out.

Sounds like your clutches are wearing out, commen occurance.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

You can read this.

Since it is a Limited Slip system it does only that, Limits the Slip. When the friction diffrence gets to great on of the clutches, its not going to work. For instance, you have one tire in the air and one of the ground. A limited slip system probably isn't going to spin the tire on the ground, but maybe a little bit. This is simply because the system is meant to only lock the wheels toghther when they have similar friction on each side. If you want to lock it all the time, get a Locker!

That was my first thought too.

Mine locks up all the time...especially if I'm peeling out of the driveway. [8D] I know because it always leaves a pair of rubber stripes on the road And that's when it's dry [8D]

if im lucky i can get both to go, usually if i ride into the right tire and put weight on it, like turning left but just a nudge, both tires will hook .

on the regular stuff its mostly just the right tire, but on my asphalt driveway i can leave 2 strips of rubber down the drive.

ill attach a pic of a little one i did a while back

Supposedly you can rebuild/replace the clutches Then again, sometimes you can get a non-posi to light them both up..If it has only happened a couple of times it might not be a posi. When I ordered my new gears, I went ahead and got a Detroit Trutrac posi unut. Claude at Drivetrain Specialists was a lot of help, and the prices were good. Factory units don't seem to hold up to much abuse.

Something to that effect. Not quite that easy though. I am going to get a buddy to help. He builds race cars and has his own repair shop. He knows what he is doing. I'm the helper. There's pinion depth, shims, spacers use a dial indicator. Since I'm changing the gear the carrier has to come out anyway. There is an install kit needed also.

http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...oduct-226.html

Just for an example, another friend of mine thought he could do it with his small kabuta tractors front axle. The gears were to tight and after 5 feet it locked up and seized the bearings from the heat.

You can put in a powertrax unit and not have to change all the stuff.

Anyone here used a powertrax and know how they do???

back lash settings, pinion teath/ring teeth mating adjustments, etc etc etc... its actually more trickey to work on differentials that what it seams..you spend 500 bux on a new diff.. like a detriot or ARB and you dont install it right... youll granade it ... thats another thing i dont monkey with is diffs... i mean il take axle shafts out but the ring and pinion stay fixed int he housing... untill i find a donor rear end for cheap to monkey with and to get some experience (best tool to have in the shop ,, experience!!!) ill leave it up to a wicked smart tech!!!
