Default RE: what are YOU pushing after mods...

I've been doing some looking and talking around, and have come to the conclusion that the biggest limiting factor on these trucks is all the programming and de-tuning done to the PCM from the factory. There is alot of crap in there that chips and programmers won't touch. Torque management for example. By itself the 318 is an awesome motor. When I was a kid, I had a Sattelite. The only things I did to it were shave the heads, put a 4bbl on it, dual exhaust, and ignition. I used to beat Trans Am's in that car.

I just picked up a used PCM from a junkyard and I'm going to send it to a guy to have all the factory BS taken off, shift points changed, and an agressive timing/fuel program installed. Apparently Superchips/ Hypertech will not do alot of this stuff for liability reasons and because they mass market there product in such a way that it has to work with any vehicle-whether it be stock, or have ported heads w/ roller rockers.
