Install is exactly the same, jst take the four screws out and the speaker comes rite out... Make sure you hook the positive and negative up rite...other wise your speakers will be out of phase and wont sound focused. I would tell you to jst get 2 ways they are cheaper and you wont really tell the difference. Do you have a door panel removal tool? Its much easier getting the doors off with it. FYI there is one screw by the mirror up top and 2 in the door handle cup.

 

no, i dont have that tool- is it something i can pick up at autozone or pepboys or something like that? thanx for the help.

 

You should be able to.. I got mine off the net, but they should have them. It basically a 90 degree angled screw drive with a u shaped tip.

O ya let me ad I did not use different clips when I put my panels back on and they are jst fine. You have to be careful tho..dont be afraid to really pry on it...dont jst try to pry it out slow jst go fast...thats how I found it easiest.

I dunno how your ram is set up compared to my 98' ram, but when i had my 98' dakota and decided to put in a pair of brand new rockford fosgate speakers, (which i feel are the best, besides bose of course[8D]) we took all the screws, clips, etc. and when we went to lift off the door panel a plastic clip broke that was connected to the door handle. I could not open my passenger door for over 2 months hahaha b/c the damn autobody shop couldnt get the part in it was on back order, ANYWAY just hope u have better luck then i did with mine!!! needless to say best buy ended up installing mine when it was all said and done.

 

best buy is kind of installing mine- i know a guy who was the car audio installer for 3 years at Best Buy (hes doin mine). im just kinda makin sure im heads up for any of those clips, such as the one it sounds like you broke.

 

if your carful you can reuse the x-mas trees but there cheap and i would recomend changing when i had my door my door panel off it was to fix my power locks and i put it back on with old clips just because i dident have new ones i was gona change them but its holding good so i havent botherd doing it like was sed there are 3 screws 1 by the mirror and 2 in the grab handle, take them out then start at a coener and start prying it off here is a pic of the door tool he was taking about there cheap and work good
