Jacking up the support bracket on the other side might help level it out. I get mud in my factory one..

I had the same problem with mine. I just got some silicone and sealed it up. It works much better now, and was way cheaper than buying an expensive K&N.

the reson i got the ractive is because the K&N wont work in my tryck becaue i have an aux bat and thar wirring there that i dont wanna move...i do have a cover for that wirring but it was off at the time of the pic and i plan to re-loom the rest this summer

the wirring if for a bunch of things, 3 sets of driving lights, 1 set of backup lights, quad beam head lights, power for my aux cig lighter outlets, and there is silonoids for my dual bats, and traler wirring, thats all i can think of

Since your filter is directly above the exaust manifolds, you should build a heat shield at least (that's one of the benefits of a K&N or RamAirBox setups) so it is not sucking in that hot air (and that air is not just warm, it is hot). Here are some pics of the shield I made back when I had an Airaid CAI. The back of the shield (side facing the exhaust manifold) is covered in ThermoTec heat barrier. It worked really good. There was a very noticable temp difference around the filter.

yah the plan is to build some box around it thats why i got it insted of a k&n dropin there isent any i could find that were a true CAI that would work in my truck with the setup i have and i dont wanna half to move what i have so i thought this would be the next best thing....im starting to wonder im thinking of some thick but semi soft high dencity foam i dont wanna silocone it on or anything like that i want it sitting good so if i half to take it off i dont halfo to worry about geting off all that silisone. the outher thing i wanna make shure is checking it i wanna make shure my thoughts on it leaking are correct i know on diesles you can use eatner by spraying it around the suspect area and listen for a rpm jump if so thats the leak...well can you do it on a gasser without hirting anyting

Ether = Starting Fluid...

I dont see why not, I've used starter fluid on gassers all the time, should just rev the engine up when it hits...
