Thats a tough question. It can get complicated when you have to adjust the spacing and backlash on them so the gears don't get to big of a worn groove on them. If you can find a good write up on them I imagine its pretty straight foward.
http://www.drivetraindepot.com/store_axle2.asp?axle=23 alright looking at that website for the front axle gears.. i dont really understand that stuff but whats the diffrence between the 2?? (genuine gears and the other one) ones like 80 bucks more
Go with YUKON.
It's something you CAN do yourself, but it's not exactly an easy process. Getting the differentials out without an axle spreader is a PITA in itself. [&:] Putting them back in isn't much fun either [:'(]

i heard with the D44 its alright to get the diff out without a spreader... its the D60's that are a realy big PITA...
thers a writeup on ps.com that shows a dude not using a spreader and just prying out the difff... not sure if its exactly the way to go but would be better then buying a housing spreader

I looked at axle spreaders after I did mine. IIRC they were around $500 on eBay...at least for the kit that would allow you to do 44s, 60s, 70s, 80s, Chryslers, and GM Corporates. [>:]
