Has anyone checked out the trannys on www.thefastman.com I was curious as to how they were compared to other places.

Found this on the website. Seems like a good deal gut don't know. I know my 5.9 won't produce 700 ponies so this should hold quite well.

The 46RE Street/Strip transmission is built to handle approximately 700 horsepower.
Price………….$1500.00

lol... i coulda afforded a APS tranny but i didnt have time or a tranny jack to do it...waiting for the shipment and figuring out the logistics woulda taken toooo long..for my DD the new 46RE will be fine..if it was a drag truck or extreme offroader then i woulda done differently

Vipers, Ram SRT10's, and CTD's with 20" of lift and 50" tires ,,, ill have a circle track, a 1/4 mile and a mud pit out back... lobster and steak for lunch!!!!!!!!!

I would suggest a private shop with a tech that knows dodge tranys. The dealer is going to install the same parts that failed before. If you do go the rebuild route make sure the shop installs the 5 pinion plannetary gear sets. Much stronger. Make sure they know how to set the end play! It's amazing how many tranys are just slopped together. A transgo shift kit will go a long way in keeping your trans from falling apart again. Go for the second level. It will increase the lube to the o.d. unit(weak link). Go with a quality kit. Kolene seals and Raybestos frictions.(red eagle alto are also good stuff)Last but not least the largest cooler you can fit.
