Default Help?

Umm, yeah so today I've been on a mission to clean the house (well the old lady gave me the option of cleaning the house or withholding sex for a month or so)... She told me that I cant clean the truck, and its dirty =/

Anyways, I poked around the truck while i was outside smoking a cig, and Well I found this wire... I'm not too concerned about it, because its just a negative wire and everything is running right, but what the hell does it go too? Its connected to the fire wall above the left side of the engine next to the stock air housing... Heres a couple of pics of it... Hope they turned out alright...

So yeah, any clue? Or is it an aftermarket connection someone made?

The connector is too small to bolt to the head. So, it probably either goes to your pcm or your valve cover. Now get back to work.lol

But I dont want to! Working sucks man, Ive clean both bathrooms, the kitchen, did the laundry, and I'm supposed to go on to the storage room and clean it ... But I know where everything is in teh storage room and if I clean it I will lose all my tools LOL...

But yeah, Anyone else have an idea? I dont see why it would go to the valve covers but ya never know =P ... I guess I'll clean a little bit so that more can respond :-P

Just went and looked. My truck has three ground wires attached to the firewall where you are talking about. One goes to the back of the head, one goes to the valve cover, and one goes to the pcm. The reason they run wires to things like valve covers and heads is because most gaskets do not conduct electricity. Therefore, these would otherwise not be grounded without the use of ground straps.

Ahhhh ok I see, thanks for looking =D Umm.. I hope this doesnt go to the pcm, I'm going out to check in a minute. Thanks for clarifying why they went to the valve cover and etc, I never knew that was the reason why =)

So whoever had my truck before me has fooled with the engine more than I thought, lets pray its the valve covers... I may crack one open later on and check out the rockers, I'm hoping for roller rockers =D

Or maybe they took the pcm off to have it flashed. The pcm ground strap goes underneath the single mounting screw on the right side. The valve cover strap goes on the inward rear stud and is secured on top of the hold down nut with a seperate 1/4-20 nut.

Eh, I found where it went (i finally went to look this morning)... It goes to the PCM... I'm fearing that I have the death flash, but there isnt a sticker that says so... And I'm not quite sure which mounting bolt it goes to, but its early in the morning and cloudy out...

Oh god i'm scared, I think I may have to buy a hypertech now...
