Default Will Gen 3 rims on a Gen 2?

I have a '99 2 WD 1500, front disc/rear drum brakes, with the factory 16" aluminum wheels. Will the factory 20" aluminum rims from a gen 3 (2005?) fit?

I'd greatly appretiate any info on this.

welcome to DF... they should fit no problem. I've seen several with the stock 20's from the gen3's on a gen 2 truck. check the bolt pattern to be sure.

Bolt pattern is fine. Should fit over the drum with no problems. Offset is fine as well.

5X5.5 bolt pattern... its common for 2genners to pick up the 3genners wheels when they get knew ones... fit perrty and look good too!!!

Thanks for the promt replys.

Since I posted the question I've been doing some searching for info. From what I've found, and you've said, the bolt pattern is the same. I've also noticed that the gen 3s use a 9/16" stud while the gen 2s are 1/2", so I'm a little concerned about using the smaller 1/2" lug nut on the larger hole in the gen 3 rim. It would really suck to pull those nuts through the rims and lose a wheel. But, as long as you guys have seen this done before with good results, and it wasn't some guy scratching his butt on the side of the road wondering where his fourth wheel went, then I'll give it a shot. Now I just need DHL to figure out where they shipped two of the four wheels I ordered.

Thanks again.

Ok, so I've got these 20's now. I roll one out to the the truck and attempt to put it on. Well, the bolt pattern is fine ... but ... when I pop on a front wheel the center cap pops out. The dust cover on the center of the hub sticks out too far! The original wheels bulge out in the center to cover the hub Do the gen3's have stubby hubs? Will a gen 3 hub/roto work on a gen 2 spindle?

I'd be willing to change the hub/rotos in order to get these wheels on, but not anything more than that. At that point I'd sell them. (hehehe, or buy a truck to fit the wheels!)

Any ideas?
