probally just cracked a line when the hub fell off.. if it was a piston you could see brake fluid leaking threw the drum (happened in my old truck)

looks real bad.... I had that happen to me too, my wheel bearings went and my truck and my tire sat the same way. If it rubed your u joint you should replace it and your rotor and brakes are most likley shot too, all those had to be replaced on mine when that happened ( my u joint rubbed too) There is a seal in the end of the axle and while you have it all taken apart best to replace it. good luck....

if you have an offset rim it is real hard on wheel bearings so keep a close eye on them so this can be prevented next time. Mine went after I went muddin too... about 700kms after.

I meant leaking from the front caliper that has the rotor at a 45 degree angle. [8D] But how much are you losing? Is it just because the pads are wearing away really fast against that rotor at a 45 degree angle, and the brake pedal would go down all the way until the worn pad reached the rotor again. Kind of like after you change brake pads, it take a couple pumps for the pads to reach the rotors. I don't see any wet spots around the brake caliper or tire indicating an actual leak, but not the best picture for it

tani, i was at a place in lacey. unfortunately i use that one side to pivot around trees alot...lets just say it was a very big tree this time. havin a dodge ram out on atv and jeep trails means you gotta take a few hits sometimes, as i'm sure all of you know.
i sourced a new hub w/bearing from napa for around $130. i had the wheel off and was checking it out, not too too bad. it seemed alot worse when my wheel was horribly angled out on the trail.

i'll get some better pics later, but please take a look at the axle shaft and u-joint. they are scratched and scored around where they meet, but they are not cracked or broken. these should be ok to re-use right?
it looks like i gotta pull the diff apart to change that axle seal, has anyone else done this? i saw the tech article on pavmentsucks, and they are great with alot of pics, so i should be ok.

as for the brakes...i'll have to see when i get everything back together. they worked normally a few times, they worked a little less effectively a few times, and they went to the floor totally a few times too. i was also down on brake fluid a little bit. but i didn't see it leaking from anywhere, so i'll hold off on that til i get the axle back together.

AND THANKS ALOT GUYS, I APPRECIATE THE ADVICE AND INFO!!
