TIRE TIME!!!!!! Need some Input!
Alright guys, got the wheels orderd. Im orderd ProComp 1023 Extreme Alloys. Now I need to get some new rubbers to go on them. Here is some info
Truck: 2001 Ram OffRoad Sport Reg Cab Short Bed.
When the new tires and wheels go on, the new DT Profab trackbar and a topgunz 2" level kit is going on.
The stock tire size is 275/70/R17 which comes out to be 32.2
Im looking between a 34 to 35 inch tire. Positive I'm going to be able to fit this tire. Especially when the new rims have 4" of backspacing and the stock rims had 4.5" of backspacing. With the extra 1/2" and the 2" level I don't see any problems at al.
Prospects: I realy like the look of the BFG A/T KO's but the price sucks. Also like the Nitto Terra's and the price is nice.
What I'm asking from you guys is some input and options for tires, prices and where to get them. 4wheelparts.com looks like my main source, as the prices are good and with the warranty, I save money on the shipping (the deal that 4wheelparts.com has).
The new rims are 16's so my options for tire sizes and brands are alot better then having the stock 17" rims. Also it seems with the 17" rims, the prices are better on the 16" rims. Atleast from the searching I've done. I want a good brand good looking tire. Preferebly an A/T, but I would go with an M/T if it has a good wear rating on it.
Right now in my shopping cart at 4wheelparts.com I have 4 Nitto Terras 305/70/R16 shipped to my house for 702. Good deal if you ask me. If anyone has any other tire or a better price, let me know!
This is a pic of the wheels.

When I went to get mine I really wanted an aggresive tire but I didn't want to spend like 900 for the BFG's like you. So I was talking to the dude at America's Tire Co. and he said he recomended The Nitto's or the Yokohamas Geolander A/T. The Yokohama's looks pretty aggresive, more so then then the Nitto's.
He said he has the Yoko's on his Dodge once and he loved them. He was telling me I should really go with the Yoko's and just kept saying they were sweet. They were actually cheaper too, so thats why I believed the guy. Usually you know how salesmen are, they always say the most expensive is the way to go, but not that dude.
But anyways I got the Yoko's from that place and I lvoe them so far. The only time I've really tried them out tracton wise was back when the snow was melting. I was driving around in the woods looking for camping sports. There was about a foot of icy solid snow on the road and those tires crawled right threw it in 2wd.
Mine were $740, but I got the warrenty on them. If I run over a nail, hit a curb and blow it up, go mudding and shread one somehow, as long as I can bring in a peice of the tire, I get a new one totally free of charge. That warrenty is good all the way up until the tread is at the wear bars too.
Oh yeah, when you buy tires from America's Tire Co. or Discount Tire Co. you get free balancing and rotation as much as you want.
I can take some picks of the tread and stuff if your interested in them. Picking tires is a pain in the ***

hey socha are you sure your warrany includes if you tear up the tire offroad?? most tire warrantys dont..... when i got mine put on, he told me that if i get a flat, no matter what, dont say it was offroad, just blame a curb/nail etc.....
but if your warranty includes offroad stuff thats really cool
shott- get mudders

i have the procomp xterrains and i love em. they kick *** on anything: mud, sand, rock, and on the road. they ride real smooth for an offroad tire. got em at 4 wheel parts and after they knocked over 200$ off the price so i could get them that day i paid 991 for everything. mount, balance, and their no questions asked warranty. hell of a deal if you ask me.so needless to say i am now a procomp tires man.
If you shop Ebay there are a few cheaper priced MT tires. I bought my Maxxis buckshots for $560 shipped to my door. I had a set of Mud rovers but the rubber was real soft and they didnt last worth crap.
Also check out Walmarts MT, Its a Branch off company of BFG and is about half the price. They wont have 35s in stock but can order them.
Also keep an eye on National wheel and tire. They will have Factory blems for real cheap.

Ok, heres a better question first. The rim measure 16X8, will a 12.5 wide tire fit on it? Like a BFG All Terrain T/A KO 315/75 R16. Found these at Tirepackage.com for 820 shipped. These are the ones I originally wanted.

yes they will fit the 8" rim. the side wall will flex more making a softer ride. But because the sidewall can flex more you get a little waveyness when driving. Not much But thats what most people feel (including myself) when going from 8" to 10"
