Default what is needed in a lift kit

I am looking to put on a lift kit. I am buying 37" tires and I know I am going to need at least a 7 in lift but the question is which one. I don't know what I will need in the lift kit for it to work. So any information will help.

for 37's your going to need 7 inches of lift if your going to wheel it. if not you can get away with only 5 inches. at least i could anyway. i would recommend skyjacker or fabtech. everyone else isnt as good. if you want to go the cheap route. get a 5in lift kit and then a 2 or 3 inch body lift. if you need more details about puting kit together, let me know and ill tell you what you need.

33's fill my wheel wells pretty good with a 3" but they rub on my LCA. I could fit 35's but they'd rub alot when I wheel and flex.

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is GEARS! What do you plan on re-gearing to? 4.56s I would hope. [>:] That is unless you like getting 7mpg and having no power

if you really want a cheap lift.. you can get a 6 inch for under 400 bucks 3 inch rough country sus. lift from topguncustomz.com and a 3 inch body lift.. i already have a 3 inch and plan on getting a 3 inch body with 35's soon

I'm not a huge fan of body lifts. I have been into wheeling for a few years and recently sold an 86 cherokee with a 10 inch skyjacker lift and 35's. It flexed fairly well but wheeled great. Anyways body lifts arent good because they make the body mounts weaker and make your COG higher. Save up and do it right, all suspension and get a fabtech or skyjacker kit.

sorry about the double post but in response to 20dodgeram01 my 98 4x4 shortbed single cab has a 4 inch lift and I could fit 35's with no rubbing. I run 33's but 35's would fit fine. you should look into that before you go with a body lift.
