The Volant is also like that but you can but the additional tube which is supposed to add some more horsepower. I was seriously considering that but not am the K&N just becuase I haven't heard any feedback from people with the Volant, looks good though

Hey zeekxxx, what exactly did you have to relocate in the front of the truck to make the heat shield fit in, that whole thing in the picture, or just a part of it? And does that need to be moved on all trucks?

It's just the evac and the bracket that holds it. I believe it does have to be moved on all trucks but dont worry, installing this intake seems sort of intimidating but it's really not if you just follow the instructions.

Nope. The directions had a section in them about it, and the kit came with a bracket, but my setup didn't look like the one in the pics. At the time I thought that the section was for california trucks.

Ya, I didn't have to relocate anything on my '99 either. Install was very simple.
