Anyone Swapped 1/2 ton For 3/4 ton springs!
Just curious - has anyone taken a complete set of springs from a 2500 and put them on a 1500? I'm just wondering if they are a direct swap and if switching them would be a cheap and easy way to get some lift and increase hauling capacity????
Front coils or rear packs? Pretty sure it would be result in a small lift and a much stiffer ride. You could go that route, or get a set of front springs from/for a 1500 OffRoad package, result in the lift and still keep somewhat a smooth ride, if you could call it that. The rear packs, I would believe that just came with AAL's for the 2500's, but no 100% sure about that.
The leafs are too wide for the stock hangers on the 1/2 ton IIRC.
It's not all spring that gives a heavy duty truck increased hauling capacity. A lot of it has to do with the axles they use as well. An easier way would be to add helper springs.
Off-Road Edition springs would definitely be a better choice up front...less harshness to the ride.

Copy all that. Thanks for the info. I'll look for an off-road model in a salvage yard around here. Maybe I'll get lucky....
if you find them at the salvage yard you better go play the lottery after doing so.

I'm pretty sure steve00ram360 did this coil spring swap on his old Ram. I recall he got about 2.5 inches of lift out of it, but a stiffer ride. Send him a PM.
