I have kind of a similar problem, though no shifting. If I'm going 65 mph in OD my RPMs are right around 1900-2000. Sometimes my RPMS will slowly creep up to 2300 or 2400 without changing speed, power or gears...then it slides right back down to 1900. TPS?
That sounds exactly like what mine did when the TPS was bad a while ago. I would be going down the interstate with the cruise control set and it would just jump up 3-400 rpms then go back down. Then a few minutes later it would do it again. It would never shift or change speeds during this. I put a TPS from Napa on and haven't had this problem since although I have had to change the transmission since then.

Sounds like a TPS to me. I noticed with the overdrive that if you are slowly accelerating and then put the pedal to the floor it takes longer to switch to OD if it does at all. I usually let up on the gas completely then punch it, it will shift straight to OD.
