Default 3.92's

I am thinking of going to 3.92's.
I just don't have the bottem end like I aught to. I am still working on the motor, time and money permitting. Fastman is next mod I think. Then 1.7 rockers most likley the Viper Rocker. Then free flow exhaust.
Where is a good place to look for gears.

What size tire are you running or are planning to run in the future. That should be what you use to determine the best gears. If it is around 33" (aka 285x70, 285x75, or 33x12.50), then go straight to 4.10. You will be disappointed with 3.92's with a 33" tire. Anything over 33", go with 4.56. If 35's or more, get the new 4.88's. These trucks are very heavy, so the more gear you go, the happier you will be. I have a 32.8" tire (285/70/17), and 4.10's and I love the combination. Great off-line improvement, but virtually no noticable decline in fuel mileage at highway speeds (75+ mph). In fact, I wish I had gone with 4.56.

I would go with the 4.56. They are great for damn near any application

Truck came with 285x75x16s Seems like a good tire and looks good on the truck. I 'm getting between 14-15 if'in I keep my foot off the firewall. So don't want to mess it up to much.

Thanks for the input.

Ya, without a doubt, go with at least 4.10. You will be dissapointed with 3.92's. For the money it costs to do gears, you don't want to have to do them again becasue the first set was not enough.

I have the 4.10 gear with locking rearend in my truck and getting ready to put 35" tires on it. I love the 4.10 gears.
