Hey, I just started at a localish stealer ship, and quite frankly cant believe they dont have there crap together.

Anyone else work at a stealership?

(PS: please dont move this, as I dont read other forums on here, just the Gen 2 ones )

How bout them Gen 2 Dodge rams

I used to work in the parts dept. at a Nissan dealership. What a mistake that was. Ever since that job I've been turned off of dealerships for life. Such BS.

I work at 3... Each is different...

Some are run very tight... good techs... parts personnel.... quality work...

my neighbor works for the dealer were i bought my first two trucks.nice place, order parts, dont pick them up they dont return them, they go in the dumpster. some parts come off wrecks that are fairly new and they still get for the full price.

I worked at a dealer for 7 years! Hope you don't want to make money! The more you know the less you make! I am currently ASE certified in 8 levels! Was a Master Tech for 4 years! I have the ring to prove it! You will get the jobs nobody can fix if you are good!

Its funny, because I was supposed to do simple inspections, but now im doing a little of everything, and everyone else is getting pissed off at me because Im doing there work

And there pay structure is the worst I have ever seen. Its like working charity and busting your *** for it

i work at a indepentant francise but work with the dealerships some are very well organized and i wouldnt mind working there others are crap very rude think thre better than other places just matters upon the dealer i guess and hey spike im in the same boat your in spouse to do the simple work and now am doing a lot more than in the job describion, and with no more benifits what a rip

That is somewhat true... it depends on the management though.

I have seen where the "top" guys get fed gravy while the "B" techs get the tough stuff. I have also seen the situation you describe. Because there is only one guy that can actuaully "repair" a vehicle he gets the jobs that take forever and don't pay well while all the other techs are rolling services in and out of the door.

As far as not making money... I would have to disagree somewhat. Good techs in this area do very well. The funny thing is that the more money they make.. the more they complain about how rough they have it... lol
