Default attn habeba86, speaker question

I put attn habeba86, but anyone can chime in here, I just figured he was the resident audio guy, and this is an audio question. I'm curious about rear speaker selection. I've got an eclipse 10" in the box that takes place of the center seat on the bench, some cheapo sony xplod 6X9's for the doors, but I haven't purchased anything for the rears. I have a ~450 W <peak> alpine amp for the doors/rears and a ~400 W <peak> for the sub. Anyway, I was planning on running some more 6X9's for the back, and just put them in some of those 6X9 boxes, but that seems pretty hokey to me. What are guys running for rear speakers in these? I've seen a few component sets that are 5 1/4, but they seem pretty pricey for such a small speaker. I'm sure I'll need something that will handle around 100-150 rms per pair so I don't trash them with my amp. Any input is welcomed.

I have these Infinity's in the rear. Infinity Reference 5010cs or the Infinity Reference 6010cs. I can't remember off hand if I got the 5-1/4 or the 6 inch. I trimmed a little metal around the opening to get them seated level. Mounted the tweeter at the top of the side panel just ahead of the seat belt opening. I got them from Circuit City, but I see they don't carry them anymore.

and these in the rear...

using this to power them...

I am so happy with this setup... I love it!!!! Best part is my stereo looks stock from the outside... everything fits right in with little if any modification.

Oh... one more thing....

My truck is a standard cab and came fromt the factory with the Infinity setup. There was already a spot for the tweeters in the front door shell and the panel already had a grill.

To be honest I would get a nice set of component speakers for the front and not really worry about the rear. Some ppl like rear fill, some ppl dont like it. I dont really care for it, bcuz I jst dont like how surround sound souds lol and you still get most of your sound from the front, so thats wat I like to focus on. If you want rear's they are 5 1/4". You can put 6 1/2", 6x8", 6x9" but those will require some cutting. If you could give me the amp model number Ill check out the specs and give ya some suggestions.

Componant setup will always give you the best sound. However, I installed a set Sony Xplod 5 1/4 with a 1/2 tweeter. That sounded pretty good and wasn't a killjoy to the old wallet. Like said before, it's mostly fill sound for the rear. Really depends on what you want to spend versus to hear. I have done some pretty pricey installs using some of the best speakers out there. I have also done some lower budget (let's say mid-range) systems that sounded just as good. Unless you are planning to pump some major wattage, you will never hear the difference. As with me, I am simi-tone deaf from when I was younger thinking rattling everyone else windows was cool.....

Anyone ever consider cutting into the underneath side of the rear bench seat of a quad cab to accomodate a set of 10's or 12's? I had some Infinity's 1221 12" subs installed in my previous RAM. But I was never able to get the volume air space I needed, plus I gave up having any space to store anything under the seat. Hence, my desire to actually use the space in the seat itself. So what if the passenger's ride is a little stiff........

Cool. I was planning on not even running rears, but my amp is way too big bridged into 2 channel (I think) for my current speakers, and I don't really want to spend a bunch more getting components for the front, or rear, but if I have to, I will... Anyway, my amp is an Alpine MRP-F450. Keep em coming. These are good!

Well you can jst use 2 channels and not bridge it and it will give each channel 70rms.
How much were u wanting to spend?

that's true... I was thinking of spending maybe a max of a couple hunderd on the fronts be it components for the front, or better 6x9's, and not running rears, or spending around 100-150 on rears, and running my current xplod's in the doors.
