Fram Boost vs. K&N FIPK Gen II
Cool thanks, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the K&N now. Just have to look around for best prices, I'll check the places you said. As for the tools, not a prob since my dad owns a landscaping business he has all the tools I need
I just received a magazine from stylinconcepts in the mail and on the back page it shows the K&N FIPK Gen II for $117.10 to $363.00 and it shows the K&N 77-Series for $230.95 to $321.95. The descriptions seem to be the same thing but why is the 77-series cheaper? Does it only fit certain vehicle types?
I've been looking on ebay lately and I've found this:

Seems to be the cheapest place around, what do you guys think?

If you don't rev the engine past 2200 at no more than 70% throttle
there is absolutely no need for a cold air intake.
Keeping the rpms low &
"lifting the foot" to get the auto trans to shift before 2500 rpm
are good ways to get maximum city MPG
and longest possible piston ring life.
If you want an improved air intake for your Magnum engine
see if someone will give you either:
a 2002+ model year Ram gasoline factory air intake system
or any years Ram Cummins diesel air intake.
So many of these are taken off by other owners
that with just a little asking you will be able to get one.
Look at it the simple common sense way:
how many gallons of gasoline could you buy for the $200-300 of a CAI?
Want to spend $300 to improve your vehicle's performance?
Spend that $300 to travel to see someone like
Ray Barton or (retired) Hugh McCandless or (retired) Tom Hoover
and talk to them for an hour or two about engines, transmissions, and tires.
You will get much better information
than 90% of the responses you get 'for free' on the internet.
