ok i tightened up the gas cap before i drove home so i'm gonna go reset the comp and see if it comes up again.. DERN people that fill up my tank... wish i could pump my own gas DERN (yes i censored myself) it.

sorry ranting..
What do you mean - "wish that I could pump my own gas"???? Are you telling me that wherever you live there is no "self service"? Here there is no such thing as "full service". Pump it yourself or don't get it........
I have had a gas cap replaced on my '01 for a bad seal and a code. I don't know what the code # was though - the stealer did it under warranty

yup i live in oregon... where there is full service and semi service.

it's actually illegal to pump my own gas here in oregon. but driving to see the family in idaho or washington or the whole rest of the country (minus new jersey, though i thought it was delaware...) i would have to pump my own gas. then at least i would know the gas cap was tight.

it should have been P0455 at least that was the code thrown by my gas cap.

some states like NJ its illegal to pump your own gas, so the idiot gas attendants sometimes are in a rush and dont tighten the cap like they should

OH HELL NO. it's their job. they get paid for it. besides if i was to tip them it would be like six or seven dollars more!

i'm not paying that kind of cash for gas... only when out eating dinner.

Guess those are two states I won't be living in.....
I recently was in Mexico, where all the gas stations are government run (all Pemex), they have guys that put in your gas and they expect tips....
