Most of us know about Rams, but not many of us know about C10s....including me [&:] Therefore, it's kind of hard for some of us to tell you to buy one or the other, because we don't know about both.

If you're not going to be taking it off road, DON'T buy a 4wd truck. You'd be wasting money in gas, maintenance, and wear & tear on parts you don't need...not to mention the fact that 4wd trucks almost always cost more than 2wd trucks of comparable shape and options. That's my only advice.

It's impossible for us to tell you if it's a 4wd....since a 1999 Dodge Ram Sport 5.9 Regular Cab shortbed could be 2wd OR 4wd. You have to go look at the truck and see if there's a shift lever for the transfer case on the "hump" between the passenger and driver floormats

As far as it comparing to the Chevy with the 5.3, it would probably be a bit slower..even with the weight difference. The 5.3 is a great motor, and is killer when modded. It's a generation ahead of what the 5.9 magnum was.

It take my previous statement back, i saw the link to the C-10, that thing is seriously ghetto'd out, I would buy the Ram. My C-10 was original body, frame, with the motor built up and a muncie 4 spd. I think you would be happier with the ram

I am first and foremost a chevy guy. I have a 1970 C-10 and I love it. After seeing the truck you are putting up against the Ram, buy the Ram.

yeah i didnt mean to sound like a jerk, but a few guys were saying not to buy a 4wd but i never said anything about it being 4wd thats all. im really not sure what im gonna do, i have been looking for a 99-02 reg cab chevy with the 5.3 but they are too expensive, my price range is around 7 to 8 thousand, so we will see.
