RE: all 5.9l guys
I had on my 5.9...
52mm TB
K&N intake with 6x9 filter
R/T heads
gibson headers
dual 2.25 out flowmaster setup
Modded intake manifold
1.7 Crower Roller rockers
Hypertech programmer
180 deg t-stat
At it's peak, I was getting mid 14's for mpg and the motor screamed really well with 295 tires on it. pulled really well up to 5k rpms and was a blast to drive on the freeway and in the mtns.
I never did dyno it so I cant tell you any numbers other than the mpg.

I HAVE A BONE STOCK MOTOR...
pushes out 245 hp and 335 ft lbs of torque (factory specs from the crank never dyno'd so not perfect).
get somewhere between 10-12 straight city and 14-16 highway (if i go over 70 the mpg drops like a rock).
all i've done is tossed in a k&n drop in. doesn't change enough over stock on those numbers. so if you're looking for magical power the k&n drop in won't give ya anything. just another stock sized paper filter that you can clean and reuse.

As the saying goes, what goes in has to come out.
The K&N FIPK is a great addition to the 360 on the intake, but you also need to improve the exhaust with a full cat-back exhaust system like a flowmaster. Just like breathing, you only inhale what you can exhale.
