Dodge Drivetrain and Lockers: Do they get along?
What are you looking to do with the truck? If you're going to do any towing, you don't want a locker unless it's selectable....and they don't make a selectable locker for the Chrysler 9.25 rear axle.
Other than that, there shouldn't be a problem. The only thing you need to worry about drivetrain wise when installing a locker are the rear axle shafts.

If you're looking for something for dd, then you don't want a locker anyway. They don't have very good street manners. A limited slip or anti-spin differential (like the ones that came from the factory as an option) would be fine.
so i've noticed in mud that if you cut the wheel in 4wd and start spinning i can feel/hear the front end switching from right to left.. beats the hell out of the truck doing that.. i went to do a 4wd donut in the mud and i couldnt the front end kept jerking around... is that the limited slip your talking about??

An open differential will do that though [8D]
If you want a really capable DD rig, you might wanna try the Detroit Locker Truetrac. It's like a beefed-up limited slip, but it uses gears to hook up instead of friction plates that can wear out. Or if you want a true locker, you'd wanna get a selectable locker, like an Ox Locker (cable operated), an ARB Airlocker (air pressure operated), or an Eaton ELocker (electrically operated). That way you've got the traction of a full locker at the push of a button (or pull of a lever, depending on the locker), but still retain stock highway manners.

The selectable lockers are nice. Problem is, NONE of them are available for the Chrysler 9.25 rear axle
There are no OX, ARB, Eaton, or Truetrac kits that will fit the Chrysler corporate axles.

AHHH. The Burning Rom, good point. I'm still a hardcore Jeeper at heart, I forgot about that corporate axle. All I've ever known are Danas and Rockwells. Anyway, how bout slap in a factory LSD in back and selectable in front? That's all I got. Or maybe just go ahead and swap in a Dynatrac Pro Rock 60?
