Thanks Mr. Burning,

I do tow with the truck yet the boat is no challenge for the V-10.

The boats only 20' and the lake is only 15 minutes away.

After reading over the instructions that you posted, as easy as it might sound to a good mechanic , I think I might best wait until my original thermastat throws up the white flag and then let a pro replace it with the 180.

But who knows -----I have my lapses in good judgement once in a while and when bordom is added to it --------projects that I shouldn't touch with a 10' pole are usually first on my list.

Damn I'm bored

does hypertech make a 180 degree stat for the v10? i noticed right after i put the hypertech programmer on my truck would ping like crazy under load.. especially on 87 octane setting.. so i switched to 93 setting and installed the low temp stat.. havent heard a ping or knock since

Hypertech T-stats are JUNK! Just ask Shott8283.....
Go get a good one at NAPA.
The 180 in my truck made a noticable difference - but as someone else said - it worked WITH my other mods and helped them out. (list of mods in sig)
