K&N seems to be more trusted, and has a better design as far as keeping it out of the heat

right on. i have a poweraid tb spacer, and would you believe it.... their airRaid systems don't fit their own tb spacers! i was leaning towards K&N, it works well with the gramp's ram srt-10

throw that tb spacer out to the recycling bin. they are just a big paper weight. all it does is lenghten the time the air gets to mix with the fuel. i have and always have used the k/n fipk.great design, looks good under the hood and they do perform.as afr as the spacer they only work on carburated engines were the fuel and air mix.before going into intake, not in the cylinder head

I installed a Fram Air Boost intake into my '95 Ram 1500. There was a small but noticable difference. Especially when passing. You can hear the engine sucking in way more air. I'm not sure how it compares to AirRaid or K&N intakes since I've never tried either, but it does work.

i removed the spacer when i cleaned my fuel rail and injectors. i saw that myth about spacers, so i haven't put it back yet. thanks. K&N it is.

I was leaning towards the new Fram Boost just to be diffrent and try it. Any more details on it? How much of a diffrence was there? CAI's really do only help at high RPM's so when passing makes sence. Think it was worth the $$$?

I think it was worth the money but then again it's the first CAI I've ever installed. You could check out their site and look at what people who installed it had to say. http://www.framboost.com/index.cfm
The instructions were really easy to follow; the kit even comes with the tools needed and cleaning solution for the filter (I believe it needs to be cleaned every 6 months or so.)
The only problem I had was the valve cover breather hose that came with the kit wasn't long enough, which was an easy fix with a trip to O'Reillys.
