Holley throttle body

RE: Holley throttle body
52mm is a bit large, especially if your 318 is stock.
A 50mm throttle body from www.thefastman.com would've been a better option

RE: Holley throttle body
My truck isn't stock. I have a mopar Ecu, higer duration cam, full exhuast, Msd coil, wires, Accel
cap+rotor and A K&N CAI. My idea was the mainfold will only flow so much air no matter how
much you try to stuff in ( unless it is compressed by supercharger or turbo) so that shouldn't be
a problem. At 260 dollars brand new and no core needed, I thought that was pretty good deal.
Do you know anyone who had troublw tih the throttle body ( fit, flow, etc). If you have please let me know.

Hmmm...you're definitely not stock. You should mention things like that (your mods) when asking about how well other mods will work for you
I don't think many/anyone here has the performance Holley throttle body. Pretty much everyone goes with the Fastman TB ($220 + core) which is the stock Holley TB bored out.
With those mods, you shouldn't notice any decline in performance. Your intake manifold will now become a bottleneck though. [&:]

RE: Holley throttle body
Yeah I know, but I'm trying to keep from getting to far into it. This is my daily driver so it
going to be mostly bolt ons. I have a 67 dodge dart two door, that i'm dropping a 402 crate
motor in so i can go fast. Well, then I guess I'll be the member who tries this throttle body and
will give you details soon.

RE: Holley throttle body
After the Holley 52 mm TB install,
any chance you could do a wide open throttle run with a OBD scan tool
and report the MAP reading?
On a 1995 5.9V8 with the factory airbox
the wide open throttle MAP reading
is about 1.6 to 1.8 inches Hg less than atmosphere
so for example if the weatherman says the barometric pressure that day is 29.6
the wide open throttle MAP will be about 28

RE: Holley throttle body
I'll try but no promises. I think my dads mechanic can do it. I got the throttle body today so it should go on tomorrow ( hopefully). I hope it doesn't do like my stock one did and keep enough air from coming in at idle. I had to drill two 13/16 holes in the butterfiles to keep it running.

RE: Holley throttle body
I put the holley on today and it made a sizeable change. I did lose a little low end but not enough to consider a major loss. The throttle response is instant and the pedal feels better. I don't have any idle or vaccum issues (yet) and the computer learned the ratio change pretty fast. All around I got a $425 list price item for $260 and it actually works
