I used it for years on my Jetta before I sold it (in good running condition) with over 285,000 km. I use it on my truck now. I can't say it helped or hurt the trucks performance as I put it in as soon as I bought the truck.

Wow ... Usually someone has a horror story to match the good story!!! I am glad to see that it appears to be a total win!

I will be donating 8 bucks to the good folks at Restore on my way home today. I am doing the oil change this weekend anyway!

Thanks for the tip!

Ummm, ramchrgr88, you don't have stock in the Restore Company, do you?!?

How are you figuring out compression ratios?

The ratio does not change.... only compression pressure (PSI) or leakdown rate will change.

Do you have any of those numbers?

HAHAHA. I can assure you all, i do not have stock in Restore...

The compression ratios are what we calculated. That changes when you lose pressure inside the cylinders due to leaks, cracks, etc. The values the machine actually give are in PSI. The 5.2L magnum should be right around 160 PSI (not sure about the 3.9, 5.9, or 8.0L engines). We did a little math and coverted them to ratios compared to what it is suppose to be. The actual PSI numbers were as follows:

cylinder #1: 149 psi
#2: 148
#3: 132
#4: 153
#5: 154
#6: 138
#7: 119
#8: 158

after trial period, ~5000 miles, all 8 cylinders were above 148PSI with a majority of them into the mid-upper 150s.

compression ratios just make more sense to me.

Thanks for the tip... as soon as I get back to my truck in TX I'll try it out and see how well it does for mine as well.

I've heard good things about this product from people I trust before.

That being said; how is it possible for a compression ratio to change? The atcual compression in each cylinder will change because of the "leaks" generated from worn parts. The compression ratio is the difference in cylinder volume at TDC and BDC. I am only seeking knowledge. I'm not saying your wrong. Can you share the math with us? Or is it too complicated?

thanks,
