Ok, I officially consider my brake system complete. And let me just say, I am having a lot of fun with this forum. So much knowledge to be gained. I hope someone benefits from my experiences someday.

Anyway, I took a few pics of my proportioning valve setup in my truck. I also installed a JAMAR manual line lock for the rear brakes. I kept reading stories about installing the proportioning valve right off the master cylinder. Then you would test drive, adjust, test drive, adjust, and so on. I said to myself..........." if I have to get in and out that many times in a day, the friction alone would wear my seat down to the springs.lol". So I went for the "easy way out" solution. These are pics of my newly installed Yearwood hydroboost. A GM single cast master cylider with a 1" bore, Aeroquip hoses, etc. I also installed an AGR-822257 PS pump with a 4.5-5gpm flow, 1500 psi. This was due to my original pump was still in service. No leaks either.

(And for those who want an honest opinion. If you need to replace you ps pump on a CTD, and you have the Saginaw style that's coupled to the vacuum pump, spend the extra money and buy a new reservoir too. It wasn't worth the hassle to transfer a new pump into an old greasy reservoir. Just my opinion on the matter.)

I removed every inch of factory appliances and brake lines. No antilock, no vacuum booster. All new 3/16 lines and ss flex hoses. I have a live line to the front, and a live line to the back with a prop valve and line lock. Simple. Works like you can only imagine, unless you drive one. I started with a 1 5/16 MC bore. Firm pedal....felt good, but too firm for friends. Went down to a 1 1/8, softer, but stoping from reasonable speeds like around town was quite a bit easier on the foot. I'd say a strong big toe is all the pressure you need. Then I went all the way down to a 1" bore. About 3" of pedal travel to lock them up, but much, much easier for a lady to drive. And you can feel every mm of travel and the response from the truck.


So here are some pics. She's a good runner. One pic is the underside shoot of the brake lines coming in and leaving the cab. The other object in the pic is my disconnected brake release cable. I have to find a place for custom brake cables.

The pic with the wires shows the connections that have no home.lol There's a ground, a single wire for the brake pressure diff circuit, and the four pin is the antiloc valves. I have the Kelsy manual for brake systems. I am sure I can either drop a resistor or even leave the solenoids plugged in just to trick the system and shut the warning lamp.lol.
