Replacing old cat
I took my truck to the shop today for oil change and told them to check out the rattling underneath ever since I bought the truck in August of 05. Turns out it was the cat which I thought it was and now they are going to replace it but I don't want any old cat they have. I want the magnaflow high flow cat but they said there are specific ones for my truck and ones that will fit and ones that won't. Can someone show me a link of the high flow cat that will fit my truck with no problems? And also, around how much should it cost?
the repair shop is looking to order me a direct fit cat, is that a good choice or should I be looking for something else? I told him I want a magnaflow high flow cat. Do these two options go together?
is there a difference between buying a direct fit and buying a universal (I'm kinda familiar with the two like direct fit fits in good and universal needs to be changed around, but could someone clarify this?)
On the second gen trucks like we have, our cat has two intake tubes and one output with the o2 sensor in the cat. You will want a direct fit replacement cat for it, otherwise there will be some fabrication to do to get a universal to fit. I have seen high flow direct fit cats on ebay for 80 bucks or so.

Anything you get will have to be welded in so the biggest thing to ensure is dual inlet, o2 sensor in same place.
I just bought this one off ebay and it fit perfect.
