Default bad low end

have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2 L engine and i have extremely bad low end power. it has 54,000 miles and i just changed the plugs, wires, cap and that stuff did not help at all. i took it to the race track and it ran a 18.36 i have a friend with the same exact truck but has a 3.9 l v6 and it will outrun mine something is not fight does anyone know what the problem is or what to do to fix it

check for a plugged cat, that will definately slow you down. another issue is the pcm may have been flashed with a program we call the death flash... it kills all your power in an attempt to stop pinging. an aftermarket programmer will fix it.

i have the same truck as you except a 5 speed.. that programmer really does help it out a lot.. pretty much a night and day diffrence.. also get a low temp stat and a k& n drop in filter.. i can keep up with 5.9's and also beat 1500 ram offroads that are also 5.2's.. except they have 4.10s and i still have 3.55's

Make sure you installed the correct plugs and they're all gapped correctly.

And spending a lot of dough on those Platinum Bosch is a waste of money.

Stick with the Champions and be happy again.

I know i learned the hard way, dam Bosch S+4 Platinum CRAP.
