what mods did you do first?
about a week after i got my dodge, i put on the flowmaster exhaust. mostly for sound, and because its probably the best bang for you buck performance wise. Did i mention it sounds pretty sweet
Westin Chrome Step Bars ... my 4 year old couldn't get in/out of the truck without help. I put them on 2 weeks after I bought the truck. I really think the 2nd Gen trucks look naked without SOMETHING down there anyway.
I think I went box rail covers, tail lights, 180 t-stat, grill inserts, painted rocker panel, programmer, CD player and subs, 3" catback exhaust and now off road y-pipe on order to get rid of the cat.
My first mod was also ironically the worst mod I ever did. It was an Airaid CAI. That thing was craptastic. I learned a lot about researching my mods before I buy after that one
In order:
Stereo/speakers
K&N air filter
Condensator, local thing, turns out it's crap
Amsoil fluids all the way around
Pro Comp Xterrain 285/75/16's
Fastman TB
Not much in two year, but i did wqhat my military paycheck could afford.

I bought my truck (3 tone green gray geen, '97 Ram 1500 ext. cab, short bed, 318, auto, 2wd) a little more than a month ago. I sold the tonneau cover and drop in bed liner and replaced with a spray-in liner and black, low profile diamond plate tool box. I also put on black nerf bars. I've put Monroe Reflex shocks all around and a new Coverlay dash cover. The engine was recently rebuilt back to stock, already has a Flowmaster cat-back dual out to 2.25" (the sound was what sold me on the truck). With the recent rebuild, I'm a little timid on doing too much to the engine. Right now I'm working on looks and function. Need to upgrade stereo and speakers to run cd's and my I-pod (not much, I'd rather hear the rumble than the music). Also going to put in the fog lights that I'm missing in the bumper. Other than that, I'm just happy to be driving a truck right now.
