royal purple oil
yeah they are going to have fun with their inventory..... i think i might have beat the stock boy or something...
here's what i did... again..
i bought a box of 12 quarts (to do a full oil change), a drain pan (my other one was full of gear oil... still need to find a way to get rid of it..), an oil filter, and a rug.
so for $7.77 i got 12 quarts of Royal Purple. heh.
final math... 65 cents per quart... that's better than the nappa brand!!!

wow this thread is almost a year old how did you dredge this up again.. hmm actually i think i still have the reciept still... yeah six seven quarts still left. hmm damn that means i REALLY need to change my oil..
Royal Purple oil is pretty good. I've got a good story about my personal experience with it, but that can wait until another time. The reason I'm chiming in here is because even though Royal Purple is sturdy enough not to lose its viscocity for 15,000 miles, that doesn't mean you should go 15,000 miles without doing some oil maintenence. Every 3-5k miles, your choice, you should ATLEAST change the oil filter. Even though the oil lasts much longer, the filter still gets clogged, and loses it's efficiency. Just pull the old filter off, replace it with a new one, and top the oil off to bring the level back up. Now I know someone is going to jump in and say that their buddy has a car that they only have to change the oil AND FILTER every 10,000 miles. I know that is true. As a matter of fact, my company van (2006 Chevy 3/4 ton cargo w/ 6.0L) is that way. It came with Mobil 1 and instructions to change the oil every 10,000 miles. The big difference is in how clean my van runs compared to these trucks. In a little over a year I've put 56,000 miles on it and it hasn't even blackened the inside of the exhaust pipe yet. How may of you can say that about your Dodge? I sure can't. Like I said before, if you're going to run an extended life oil(like Royal Purple, Mobil 1, Redline, AMSOIL, etc) you still need to change the oil filter to maintain a healthy lubrication system inside your engine.
