I've been using that Rain X stuff and it really works good !! It puts a coating on the window so that when it rains the water just flys off.
I was just wondering if anyone had ever tried the heater thing. Those bugs can be a real pain sometimes no matter what kind of fluid you use.

heating isn't going to do anything for bugs. it won't soak the bug guts any longer than any other fluid so the changes the heat would do are nearly negligible. the heaters are not going to add that much heat to the system as the plastic lines running through there can't handle too much heat.
of course this is just my opinion but from what i've learned in school the few degrees of difference in heat take longer to work than you would think. for it to be worth anything it would have to boil off the bugs...

I heard those diamond coated windshield wiper blades are great for removing the bugs from windshields.
Seriously, unless the bugs are fresh kills, I don't think there is much you can do to get them off with the wipers. The best thing I found was taking a new fabric softener sheet and making it wet, then wipe the bugs off by hand. I've read where this works great on the front of the vehicles, so I tried it on the windshield. You just have to take a damp cloth and wipe off the residue from the fabric softener sheet.

so you just dampin a fabric softner sheet with water and use that to scrub bugs off? i wonder why it works.. maybe b/c its full of fibers and scrubs good? and the truck with smell downy soft fresH!
anyway..not to jack this dudes thread completley... i MIGHT have my washer bottle left over from when i did my fan conversion... ill have to look i can get back to you in a few days.. if not.. you can go to autozone/advanced and get a universal coolant bottle .. and drill out the hole for the pump and seal it..thast what im running now and it works great! and it only costs like 10 bux

as for the washer heater, its unadvisable to use, in a cold winter, it can do serious damage putting hot fluid on an ice cold windshield, changing its temperature up to 80Degrees in seconds. so then crack.
as for the downy sheet, i'll have to try that, i've got more bug guts on the front of my truck from my last trip than i needed.
