one was cracked, so I removed mine... now if i were to do something new about it, i'd find 3rd gen ones to replace them, but no.. i'm just going to find the first gen ornament instead.

So, help me understand why we are doing this ???
For me, I'd like to do it simply because the badges on the tailgate of my Ram just look so cheesy. They're those vinyl blocky 4x4 and Dodge badges. If they were the newer chrome ones they wouldn't bother me, but vinyl just doesn't seem to match the rest of the truck.

i've been looking at the tailgate badges, and im still deciding whether or not to do them, .. if i do, the dints will be more noticeable then.

After seeing this thread a few days ago, I took my decals off my tailgate tonight after work.
My wife's hair-dryer, a bottle of windex, tweezers, and 12 minutes later a CLEAN tailgate.
I do have "Ghosting" but I think after a lil waxing and buffing, I think it will be "Good 2 Go"

Ive got ghosting on my black 01 ram. Its been raining here, so I havnt had a chance to buff anything out and wax it. But Ive got ghosts where all the ugly a$$ pin stripes where, plus the badges and tail gate decals. I think a black truck looks best just black, with nothing on it.

once I buff out the tailgate, if the ghosting comes out, then I am gonna take all the badges off.
I have a Hunters "Mossy Oak" theme going on anyways, so I think it will look better with em off:

I took mine off in favor of the 3rd gen ones that I could further modify and paint a nonobtrusive color. I dislike chrome on black trucks.
