Default 1997 Ram 2500 can't even spin the tires unless the pavement is wet!

I just got this truck and its not that I want to go burn the tires off. But i would think that a truck with a 360 magnum, posi 4.10 gears, and 245/75/R16 tires should be able to spin the tires from a dead stop. Otherwise it seems to have pretty good power down the highway. It also is completely stock no mods and is an automatic. Any help would be appreciated.
THANKS

Death Flash is a possibility. Look on your PCM for a sticker that says something about an authorized reprogram.

My truck can't turn the 285/75's from a dead stop with 3.92s and LSD. I couldn't spin the 265's either. Something is robing me hardcore and I have no idea what it is, been trying to find out for a while

I checked the computer and it doesnt have anything on it besides the regular stickers. Every once and a while i'll start it up and it will puff smoke out the exhaust for just a second could my intake gasket be sucking in oil or maybe valve seals leaking. Could that cause a lack in power?
Thanks

I've never been able to smoke mine on dry pavement either but I'm not worried about it. Tire rubber compound and weight transfer has a lot to do with it. Either everyone around me has been a bunch of old women for almost 9 years or this truck hooks up the rears and accelerates hard when I want it to. Last week, I dragged some hotdog in a new Lexus (car) to a dead heat up to about 60 (until my billboard front end held me back). Not bad for a mostly stock 3 ton 4x4.

Wet ... different story entirely.

I wouldn't worry at all about a 3/4 ton that's coming up on 10 years old. It's even heavier. 12" frame (vs. 9") ... plus a D60 axle back there.

I imagine this thing would turn in pretty respectable times on the 1/8th mile. Probably be totally embarrased by 1/4 mile times though.
