Flowmaster Muffler?
Hey Everyone,
I finally get to upgrade the muffler on my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Ext Cab 4x4. Its got the 5.2. I was wondering what flowmaster or magnaflow mufflers you guys would recommend. Also, does anyone know the correct inlet/outlet size? Help would be awesome!!!
Thanks Guys!!!

I think the inlet on my 99 Ram was 2.5. I have a flowmaster 40 series, single in dual out. The oulets are 2.25. I love the way mine sounds. I have never heard a dodge with a magnflow though, so I can't really comment on them.
I've got stainless set of magna flows on my dodge (see my gallery and you can see them under the truck)
I had flowmasters for years and they would last about 2 years max/ then start falling apart on the inside....And that hollow sound doesn't refelct the true performance of the motor.....I guess I am a realist, but the magna flows sound good at idle and cruising speeds but sound like a nascar at wid open throttle>>>>>>>>>
I like tru motor sounds and something that refelcts correctly how a motor is working--- I will never buy another muffler other magna flow (unless I put dumpouts over the rear axle...LOL)

Hi I'm new and grammaticly incorrect. but i thought id put out there the simplest thing that doesn't sound like an everyday cant tell what it is until you see the truck higher dollar flowmaster??? Say like 36" glasspack replacement( 47$ and an hour or 2 of hand tool labor ) for the stock trim exaust 5+ yrs and breaths like i just broke it in see the next thing im doing is replacing my old old cao with the highest flow cat i can get with a 3" output and then ofcourse a 3" in/out glasspack ..... i know hokey but i gotta be meand i pull tripl digits mph's on 395 into work at least once a week . but it doesn't sound better or worse than a flowmaster or magna but the kinda differant i like .
I have a 95 ram 318 with dual exhaust, no cats, and 2 40 series flowmaster mufflers. It sounds awesome and pulls hard. I'm not sure how a flowmaster falls apart since there's bothing in side except welded steel, but It's by far the best sound. Glasspacks are so 1970's. I garuntee you can differentiate my truck from anyone else's. If you want a different sound, lose the cats.

Do you want loud? If you are like me and want loud I'd go with the Flowmaster 40. If you want really loud there is the 10 series that is supposed to be about as loud as straight pipes only with a differn't tone to them.
