They should fit fine without rubbing on the stock rims. Aftermarket rims with the 285's may rub a little.

In the day this was one of the top 5 questions asked...and yes they'll fit, it appears different trucks rub a little, or not at all.

My truck's had 285's on it since I bought it...and with or without a lift, I've never had an issue with clearance.

I think you will be good with the stock rims but they are only 7 inches wide on most Dodge Rams (kind of skinny for that tire).
In my experience, it depends on the tires actual size........I mean some 285s are actually taller and a bit wider than some brands. I I have seen some rub just slightly at full lock and others that rub a lil more.

For example I am putting on 285 Buckshot mudders which actual measurements are a hair over 33 inches where BFGs and Pro Comps were a lil under 33 inches (usually around 32.8").

i suppose the tread has alot to do with rubbing as well, the meatier the tread the more chances of rubbing.

If you go on the tire rack website they give you the actual size of a lot of tires including the number of rotations per mile for each tire. I was surprised a little on the amount of difference on tires of the same size but different brands nad models.
