To what % are our rear window's tinted/dipped in our trucks???? I changed my back window to 5%, which is darker than it was before, but now i want to tint my front ones to match my two rear ones. Anybody have any idea????

so your saying its like my rear ones where you have 5% over the factory 20% right? if so i would just do the front windows 5%. its going to be EXTREMELY hard to see at night if you have "negitve tint"

 

My back rear window is 5% with the old 20% removed prior to installing the 5% (it faded to purple). The rear back 2 little windows though are factory (20%???). I want to match the front 2 windows with the rear 2 factory windows, but leave the back window at 5%.....so i would have 20% on all four side windows and 5% on the back window. Even with the back window darkened to 5% its hard to see into my truck when its comeing at you.......

 

Agreed ^^^ Even 5% is hard to see out of at night...at least for me.

I'd rather have some 20-25% llumar tint. A buddy of mine has a car with it...and it looks GREAT!

somtimes that lumar tint is considered mirrored or chromed tint and illegal in some states.. just giving you a heads up.. ALSO states have their own percentatages allowable for tint,, some have different %'s for rear and side glass too.. like your rear glass has to be a certain % but your sides can be a different/darker %.. i know its been said cops don't check tint.. but thast bull****.. my old man is a cop and he;s shown me the slip over device used to measure allowable light penatration for tint.. and he's busted alot of little **** heads with tint too dark or blacked out windows.. and i dont blame him.. if i was a cop id want to know what the subjects in the car are doing before i walk up to it..

 

Yeah we have a % law, my friend's black Monte SS 5% on the back 3 and 20% on the front two and he got pulled over 3 times, tickets, he finally pulled off the 20%. But that was dark, and his car was more of an attention catcher than my pickup.

 

he pulled off the 20%? and left on the 5%? 5% means it only lets through 5% of light.. thought he woulda pulled the 5% off..

 

here all they care about is the two front windows, you can get the rest at 5% and they cant say anything. But they are strict on the front 2 i dont know what the legal limit of it is.

 

Here in Oregon, the law says 35% all the way around, but I am pretty sure that I have seen cars with more than that.
