Default New stereo Question

I need to replace the stereo in my 97 cause it's blown and i planned on putting an IPod compatible apline head in there, but i have a question, will the stereo work with the factory amplified speakers?

Yes
You would be better off bypassing them tho and running new speaker wire to the speakers.

Hey, I dont know if it would be cheaper for you. But i have the ipod holder that you just plug into your cigarette lighter and and it plays throughout your speakers. Is that device cheaper than your stereo. Just a thought for ya, The device was about 60 bucks at Best buy.

Yeah butt the stock stereo is busted so i'm wiring in a spare i have sitting around and i'm gonna buy a good one when i have the time. But it will work with the inline amps right? Cause i'll do it tomarrow if it will.

do you have the infinity system? if you do you may have a little problem but a simple fix. If you have the infinity system and hook it up with a wiring harness it may not play through your speakers well or at all. Mine only played through my tweeters. All you need to do is switch the two blue wires around (solid blue on connector to blue with white stripe from back of new stereo and vice versa) That worked perfect for me. Although i did just run new wires a couple days later and completely by passed the amp anyway. But just a thought.

As I said before...bypass the amps....it might take you a little work...but your speakers will sound better.

It actualyl sounds alot better then the old stock unit, looks pretty sharp to. Kudos to the walmart kit that covered about $300 different cars.

i just replaced everything and ripped all that infinity garbage out. sounded like trash anyway. i had the system with tweeters molded in to the A pillars too. absolute junk! Now i have an Eclispe head unit, MBQuart components for the front, Polk momo's for the rear and a 500w 4 channel JL audio amp. sounds a bazillion times better!
