Help quick.. 2000 360 Exhaust
i currently own a 360 dodge sport. so i went and talked to a lot of exhaust guys at local shops. i said i wanted somthing loud and really agressively low tone. They all said to run no mufflers. i've heard my cousin who had a 99 360 clubcab ( back in 99) say his popped and backfired sound when he jumped all over it. i've heard 350's and 302's abd 351 windsors that have had that problem with backfiring and popping and it sounds like. SH$$. i hate that sound its just a nnoying. i have however never been around too many dodges with exhaust.
i guess what i'm asking is if i didnt run mufflers would it hurt anything, and would it have that annoying popping and backfiring?

you could try it and if you like it keep it, if you dont, put mufflers on there...... itd be different if you were testing out a muffler cuz youd have to buy it either way, but since no mufflers is nothing to buy, why not try it?
well, i guess i'm kinda wondering if leaving the cats would warrent enough back pressure to run no mufflers without suffering huge loss in gas milage and power.
also, i'm asking this cause if i dont like it, i'm gonna have to pay more for install if they have to get under it again and start welding

I have a '99 Ram 1500 360, and when i took my muffler off i lost alot of backpressure, so i went with a flowmaster 40 dumped, wasn't loud enough. So i then went with the FLowmaster 10 series race (single chamber) and it is really loud, sets off car alarms everywhere. I do not know how you would get a low tone without a muffler, it would be more of a higher pitch poppy kind of noise, from open headers and open cats that i have heard.

ive been thinkin about a 10 series...... did you dump it under the truck or did you let it exit somewhere? if exit, whats teh size of your piping?
So, it gets that real loud poppy noise.. i've heard that it sounds fine with no mufflers according to the guy. but maybe i'll just see what the price is to get a muffler later. anybody else?

ive asked a lot of ?s on here about exhaust, and from what i understand is the 318 sounds good w/ no muffler but that the 360 does backfire more than most people like..... but thats just what im told, i havent experienced it on either engines
well. i'm probably gonna try it
i dunno, i guess if i dont li ke it i can just put the muffler on. he had a knock off flowmaster i would try if i didnt like the one without.
i've heard from a lot of dealers its not as bad as the chevy's or fords. i even had the flowmaster guy tell me to run it without em. so.. i dunno. i guess i'll try it. i appreciate all the help. i hope it turns out good.. and i dont get noise violation tickets
