ok, im getting a pulsing squeek from my front driverside break area. i replaced the rotors and pads, neverseazed the back of the pads and the caliper contacts. would it possibly be the caliper bolts or sleaves being worn? not to sure what to check next. could be wheel bearings. i dont know. but im tired of dumping money into it and not getting results. so, any info would be appreciated.
thanks
nugo
I would look into replacing the caliper slides on both sides. The kits are like 12 bucks at AutoZone. I really doubt that it is a wheel bearing because that is usually a grinding noise. Maybe someone else has a suggestion.
Are you sure it is from the brakes? I had a maddening squeak for a long time in that area of the truck and it turned out to be the shifter linkage or the steering shaft joint. I spray-lubed both and the squeak went away......
I don't want to jack this thread but Racinfan where are you from in Missouri? I'm in Pittsburg, KS about 5 miles from the MO/KS state line. Just wondered if there we any DF guys close by.
Does this only happen when you apply the brakes and are you sure that the brakes are what causing it? Because if it happens all the time, driving down the road, it could be ball joints, they will cause a creeking noise, at slow speeds you can hear it and the creeks will speed up and be harder to hear when you speed up.
