Im not using the Sylvania Silverstars. was using ge nighthawk, but they didnt last much longer than the hid **** i had before. i put my first pair of silverstars in may 1st. just changed the drivers side this week. so they last longer than all the others ive tried.

as for this relay and heavier wiring, does this brighten things up at all?

im still looking for a little more brightness

The wiring upgrade/relay will give you a big boost in voltage and better lights, even with standard Halogen. I'm planning on the upgrade and GENightHawks here.

Real HID light are 100 percent better than silverstar lights.

especially for the audio person why? because they draw less voltage and current.
and hid system is decigned to work at as little as 12 volts and 35 watts PS they do not flash when your bass hits. SIlverstar bulbs do.

a normal bulb is rated at about 13 volts (will work fine with 12) and 55 watts which mean they require more amperage and current

I have seen many good cheap kits my kits are infact only 150 but thats dealer price .

and here is a picture for ya

true hid lights

PS those light in the pic are my old ones . i purchased newone and the same color those where kits i had laying around.

Yeah I agree with the whole visibilty thing on HID's. My brother is running an HID conversion kit in his F-350. Don't get me wrong, they look ****ing mint. But visibilty isn't that great in the rain or the snow. I feel bad for him too because he only bought a lowbeam kit, so he can't even put his highbeams on lol, so he's stuck with just the setting.. I really want them though, have them run on my headlights and foglights, would look badass. But then again, I don't want to spend money on something that is going to make it so I can't see in a ****ing rainstorm or something. And like JARHEAD said, spending $500 on a nice kit would be nice, but it would suck because you definately aint going to get any performance out of those! It's still something I definately want though, but I want to make sure it's a nice kit that won't leave me blinded in a snowstorm or a rainstorm.

Ihave an HID Conversion kit in my 2004 Ram and they are nice. I got a bi-xenon kit which gives you high and low beam. I'm not crazy about the real blue color though so I went with 6000K (Diamond White). I liked them so much I bought a kit and did my fog lights too. Use far less current so installing new wiring is not needed. Just plug your headlight connector into the ballast, andthe ballast leads into your new HID lamp.If you are looking at a kit that doesnt come with ballasts its not true HID. Alot of cheap knockoffstry to say theyareHID and Xenon, but arent. They might have xenon gas in them but if you see "Halogen" they are not true HID. If your kit is DOT approved its not illegal. Your beam pattern will not be any different than what you had, you will just have a different light source thats all.
