Underdrive pulleys
im looking to get a set of underdrive pulleys. i just need to know what all i would need other than the pulleys. also what brand of pulleys should i be looking at, what kind of price, and even where to get them.

RE: Underdrive pulleys
go to summitracing.com
type underdrive pulley in the keyword or part number box. then click all the specifics for your truck. they'll tell you whats available. i've been looking for pulleys myself and i think ASP is pretty much the best option. but look for march pulleys and jet pulleys also.
I had ordered pulleys from jet that were "for my truck" but werent correct. before you order, look at your stock pulleys make sure that they will bolt up properly. my problem was that the crank pulley that i ordered had either 4 or 6 bolt pattern when i actually need a one bolt pulley.
You will need a new belt to go with the pulleys since they are all different sizes.
im really tired so if what i wrote doesnt make sense, let me know and i'll explain it better tommorrow

RE: Underdrive pulleys
I got my March 3pc alum pulleys from Andy Renkin at Straightline Racing (just off Kennedy Rd between Lawrence/Ellesmere). Try looking for a Karbelt in your area if you dont want to come to TO. Fit was perfect, knocked about .12 seconds off 1/4 mile ets and look better than stock. If you go to Straightline, Andy or Pat may give a better price if you mention Blair sent you

FYI, March pulleys are not cheap. 3pc alum will give the best results. Price up here, w/tx dont expect to find them for under 400. Im going to Renkins shop tomorrow to pick up more parts. Ill ask him how much n post back. What ever you do, do not buy them from Performance Improvements. Guaranteed they will charge anywhere from 15-30% more than Renkin will charge you.

RE: Underdrive pulleys
I know your running pulleys on your '96, but it is mostly a track truck right? Would you recommend them on a daily driver? Ecspecially one with accessories like aux lights, interior gauges, electronic meters, etc... (things that might require the alternator to be working at full capacity).
