Default Fuel cooler mod

I know some have you have done the mod where you place a cooler inline with your fuel up front. And there has been some question as tot he safety of this. Well possible somthing like this from Moroso could do the trick? Put it under the body mounted to the frame rail? OR even a small cooler like this with a couple 12v high CFM PC fans mounted to it?

Edit: P.S. What are you guys using to wrap your rails/lines with?

the tranny cooler thing may not work... it could act as a heat sink from heat off the exhaust & tranny. what you could do is get the other cooler that has the output line running in the opposite direction of the input side, then shield it and feed it cool air. that was my original though but I never did it. I just left it up front on the DS of the radiator. The mod is a great one, however as you know it comes with it's hazards... do it at your own risk.

on the fuel rails, I used thermo tec heat shielding tape. I never yanked the rails to install it but it would be a hellova lot easier if you did. also make sure you use fuel injection line and NOT regular fuel line... there is a huge difference in strength. last thing you want is a regular fuel line poping a leak on you while your driving.

I really think that you could mount it far enough away to not sink heat from the exhaust, especially at speed. That is, no more then you'd get having lines that pass the headers or a cooler in front of the radiator.

I'm kinda digging this one ...

It looks like it is just one big heat sink, and it looks the least dangerous of the two. Perhaps mount two or three in a series.

These to me look kinda fragile to have mounted under the truck ....

Of all of them I'm diggin the ice bucket design the most, but I think it's useless on a daily driver.

I'm really sweet on the heat sink design that I posted above !! I think it'll do the best job AND be the safest.

Yeah i'm pretty tempted to try it, looks alot sturdier then the ones Chopper posted. If anyone beats me to it, please test the fuel temps before and after if you can! i'm really not keen on fuel lines anywhere near the front of the truck lol. For those of you that have them up front, what kinda difference did you feel it made over stock?

Edit: i want to do this to my sportscar too, but i'm not keen on the idea of hitting somthing god-forbid at like 100mph with a fuel cooler up front! lol
