Its definatly a good idea. Having 2 filters is better than one. The problem I see is that the filter in the gas tank is still going to pick up all the crap first, which means that will be the first filter your going to end up changing. Which is still a PITA

I think it's a trans fluid filter. We need more info!

If it's for the trans, good idea! Are you going to add a trans cooler, too?

It is certainly an improvement as long as the installation doesn't leak or fail.

The US Military have run several studies on reliability versus filtration
and the added danger that extra hoses leak or fail
or external mounts come loose from vibration, etc
can create more engine failures than the improved filtration reduces.

The 'dry sump' filtration system has many good points
and can reduce internal engine friction by more than 20 hp
but the increased chances for things to go wrong is always there.

The new Corvette C7 has a dry sump system on a production vehicle.
It will be interesting to look back 10 years from now at GM dealer records to see
if this dry sump system fails at a greater rate than the 'simple' system it replaced the year before.

I'm gonna say the 20hp and "bling" race factor is more of the driving force behind that.

And as long as one actually checks to make sure the filter is still there once in a while you're all set.

Here's a slightly better pic with everything hooked up to keep it from moving around.

Looks good, I think Hank that if he's got his head under the hood now, he's gonna in the future which hopefully he would catch any problem with leaking hoses etc. I'd like to do one on mine someday. what was the cost? and from who?
