Which oil???
heh i just put royal purple in my truck... i didn't notice a huge change but i really did notice that the engine seemed to run smoother. now that it has gotten colder the truck is taking a bit more to start up, but that's just cause it's cold not the oil.
i don't know that you'll get all the power gains they say you do, but seems to be doing good for my engine so far.
there is a very interesting story behind how i got the oil... paid $7.77 for a case of 12.. didn't even know that i got that good of a deal until i got home and searched the web for awhile. pretty funny. oh well napa can handle it. i've used the napa brand synthetic, mobil 1 synthetic, and old school dino oil too. so far i've liked the royal purple the best... but it's still hard to justify the 8-10 dollars a quart.

Where are you located? I am in Oklahoma and am using 10W40 dinosaur oil to break in my freshly rebuilt engine. Once I get about 1,000 miles on it, I am going to switch to synthetic 15W30 for 7500 mile oil changes. I do a lot of highway driving and am going to use my truck for hauling as well, so a longer duration between oil changes helps. Gotta remember that the filter is JUST as important as the oil you use. Wix is one of the best and Fram is ****.
napa gold's have worked well for me... we'll see at the next oil change though..

I use Mobil 1 10W30 synthetic, and love it.
With all due respect to a fellow member of the forum......7500 MILES BETWEEN CHANGES????? I know that the manufacturer recommendations are somewhere around there, and that the oil companies say their stuff will go that long or longer, but I have a hard time believing that ANY oil will be good enough to maintain the integrity of your engine at that length.
If you drive 7500 miles in a couple months on the highway - maybe. The problem is that even though the oil itself may not "break down", it still carries all the dirt in it that manages to get into the engine through the air filter, and it still gets water in it from the normal condensation produced by the engine heating and cooling cycles.
I change mine every 3000 miles - even with the synthetic - and the truck runs better after the change. I figure that the $24 I spend every couple months is cheap insurance.......
