Default PIAA 510's

Does anyone know a trick on how to hook up these lights up to the factory switch and wires. I had a set of el cheapo's but a rock broke the lense so I got a set of the piaa 510's. The cheap ones I had worked fine with the factory switch, but these will not. When I hook up the right side the light comes on with out the switch. I hooked up the left side and it worked finewith the switch. When I hook both of them up at the same time they both come on without the switch. Do I need a relay for these lights or could there be somthing wrong with one of them. This sort of thing shouldn't be this hard but it has me puzzled. Thanks for any help!

I'd use a relay, that will probably slove your problem and be much safer.

That relay is one that you need to buy, or one that's already in the truck?

Thanks for the response guy, but I figured it out last night. Aperently somthing was grounding out or a hot wire was touching inside one of the housings. I took it apart and made sure that no wires or connectors were touching anything and that solved it. Both lights work with the factory switch.

A question and a comment:

Do the 510's fit into the fog light insert in the bumper? I don't mean the Sport bumper mount, but the mount used to hold factory lights in the plastic bumper insert. They look like they might and PIAA sells them for that kind of upgrade.

My comment is that your PIAA's draw 110 watts and the stock lights only 70, so the wiring and switch may be marginal. If it's something you can do easily, relay installation would be a good idea.

I am pretty sure they will fit in the factory hole. The only reason I am pretty sure is that I have replaced the gray piece with a billet bumpergrill that matches my grill. I just cut the bumper grill to allow space for the fog lights. I will see if I can post some pics so you can see what I mean. And yes I will most likely install a relay because I use these lights every day. I assume places like Autozone or advanced would carry relays?
