That sounds like something I really want to do. I'd like to put a different hood on my truck with ram air functional.

The Ram Air box doesn't really work with any hood, but you could probably fab it so it would, escpecially if you are good with fiberglass.

Sir with all do respect I do not have the time to go through all of these pages to find out where you got your intake and valve covers. I am a nurse and what little time I have between pt's I log on. So if the information is embeded in this lengthy thread then thanks but no thanks.

Wow, sorry to put you out. There is a search button on here too that makes finding stuff fast and easy. But to answer your questions since your so busy:

-The filter assembly costs $70 through Summit (part# DCC-5249807),
-A K&N filter is about $40 from anyplace that sells them (part # 1530 or 1535 depending on how tall you want to go), or just use the paper filter that comes with the kit.
-The s-bolt for the air hat is something you make yourself, and is a piece of 1/4"-20 rod that comes with the kit, or you can buy a rod of it at Home Depot or Lowes for about a buck.
-The standalone breather can be purchased at most any parts store for less then $10.
-I got from valve covers from Southeast R/T (www.southeastrt.com) for about $160 shipped.

Hope you made it through this before you ran out of time. I can post it again if you need.

Unfortunately I'm not that good with fiberglass. I sure don't want to pay someone to do it either. Can you still get shaker hoods? That would be pretty unique.

Ya the shaker hood for our trucks is really sweet. I would love to get one. It runs about $600-$800, unpainted from what I recall.

Check it out:

IMO a Ram Air box with snorkels on either side of the radiator work better. That or cowl induction from the windshield.I am planning tofab hard pipes out of heated and bent pvc pipe.
