K&N FIPK No More
Thanks for the advice Silver_Dodge. I just got one for mine Edlebrock Part # 1221. It fits on perfect but you have to put the base and filter on together. If you put them on seperately the filter jams under the firewall. I am concerned that it may sit a too low. I have about1/8" of space between the linkage/ sensors below the base. I worked the throttle and it doesn't seem to get hung up. I am wondering if I may need to get a spacer. The guy at the parts store told me it was a dropped base air cleaner 3/4". The heat is a concern for meafter reading the posts. I set the air cleaner on top andtook my other truck to Lowesand came back and was surprised at how much heat that thing sucked up. My next challenge is making the S-bolt.Any good ideas on how to cut and bend 1/4" rod without screwing up the threads? oh pics coming soon[8D]
Bend it on theedge of something firm (like a work bench) with your palm and grip it with vise grips on the inside of the "S". I have a heavy duty adjustable shelving rack that I use to bend on.I just feed the rod thru a free hole and hold one end with the vise grips and pull on the other until it bends to about 45 degrees, feed thru some more and bend the other end back toparallel.
Hey guys this may have benefits but I am not putting one on my truck. I found this on Autozone's site. http://www.autozone.com/R,NONAPP2386...ductDetail.htm.

I highly doubt you will get a ticket for that, and I doubly doubt you should trust ReturnZone to be an expert on anything, including the law.
You think a cops going to pop the hood and know that's illegal?
If Autozone sold it to you, they're just as liable as youas itclearly states"sale or use."
But, I could just be a lawless hellraiser.

I don't think it is universal to all round filter assemblies. I passed my emissions inspection last year with this setup, and they said nothing about it. The guy doing my test even commented on how nice it looked, and how he thought he should get one for his girlfriends Ram.
since the ratio is 99:1 i could not let this past by with out giving it a try , well so far so good just gotta let the PCM relearn but here is a pic of the AC after the new year will look better with a cowl hood..i post some specs on the AC and filter ..
