You may be right. I've worked on so many different engines, it's hard to keep track at times. Chrysler, Cadillac, Furd and BMW all in the last year or so. (I swap cars a lot.)

Only reason I know that is was looking at the FSM to order the special tool to hold the water pump pulley. Lol apparently the earlier FSMs (97 and down) are 100% wrong on how to hold the pulley

You can take a big crescent wrench & put onto the big nut of the fan clutch, the wack it with a hammer to shock the nut loose from the water pump pulley. Saves the hassle of trying to hold the pulley still. It doesn't take much.

Also, be careful when installing the new pump to get that big bypass hose on and the hose clamp on straight to avoid a nagging leak.

That usually works but mine was on super tight even bent my crescent wrench handle trying to undo the nut

I used a pipe wrench and a BFH. One good whack, and it came right loose.

I have a set of wrenches for diesel engine fans and the one wrench works on our trucks. Whack it with a DBH and once it pops loose, thread it off. The only draw back to these fans is getting my fa...um...muscular arms down there and threading it onto the water pump shaft can be a bear.

On my 05 Ram I've removed all bolts, but water pump refuses to come out! I've tapped with hammer, used a little PB blaster, twisted and pulled, still nothing. Any ideas on how to get this stuck water pump off ??

Do you have the new pump? Do you have a bolt removed for every hole in it? I've seen bolts in hidden spots that weren't removed so the pump didn't come off. My 528i BMW had one you couldn't see but it was there. You might have one bolt left to remove.
